Review: IcyxTritannus

Our little Icy has finally grown up and fallen in love, this time for real. And now I'm gonna share my thoughts on the relationship. Sorry this post isn't very organized-- it's mostly a ramble of my different thoughts loosely tied together into a post.

"Hey, how come we don't get any real moments?!"

So, an evil ice witch and a evil mutant fishman. Obviously the cutest couple. Riiiight?

To be honest, I really don't mind the concept. Icy finally getting a boyfriend, and no more of that stupid three Trix competing for one man that really doesn't want any of them junk we got with both Darkar and Valtor.

But the execution is... less than stellar. Up until The Eclipse, there was no real love shown and you couldn't tell if it was simply her manipulating him or what.

I don't know about you guys, but I've always thought that if Icy were to get into a relationship she would be the dominant one. I can't see her bowing down to any guy, no matter how much she liked him if there's no benefit in it for her.

But it's also so hard to tell her true feelings for Tritannus... I guess her taking the hit for him in The Eclipse was the proof that she really did love him, but up until then all we got was "I will rule! And you'll be my empress!" "Oooooh, Tritannus!" and Darcy and Stormy puking their guts out over it. Winx writers, if you're gonna make a couple, how about like, develop it? Please?

This is the face of a loving boyfriend.
Moving past the first half, since nothing else happened to them in it, I'm actually starting to warm up to the pairing. Well, starting in Faraway Reflections. (that was the name of the episode, right? I've blanked out! Can't remember!) Though I must say Icy is oddly devoted to a man that she met around fourteen episodes ago, and has had no real moments with.

The one thing that doesn't make sense to me though... is why would she ignore Darcy and Stormy's warning that Daphne gave? Does she not want her boyfriend to like.. live? Shouldn't she take this seriously for the sake of his life?

Maybe she thinks he really knows what he's doing... but she shouldn't, honestly. Isn't she picking up any clues? How when he stuck the seal in, he was completely and utterly drained? Doesn't that send signals of I dunno.. "wow, he doesn't really know what he's doing." Or is she just one of those girls that thinks everything he does is amazing because HE did it?

Icy... realize the situation and team up with your sisters to save your lives. You can go back to your goal of ruling the world afterward if you'd like. Maybe before he activates it she'll realize.

The other thing that really gets me about the relationship is the fact that she's treating her sisters like dirt-- she honestly wouldn't mind them straight out leaving. Weren't they together since Season 1? That's five years, and most likely more since I'm assumning they knew each other before Season 1. And no I'm not counting them as blood sisters, I'm thinking sisters like cheetah sisters. ;) (You guys remember that movie right?!)

But anyway. You can't just drop the girls you've been bffs with for so many years for a guy. You even formed one being with them once come on. You can't forget that. That has to be a cherished memory.

I also can't believe she took that hit for him. Icy seems like the kind of girl that would put herself before others, even if they're her loved ones. She barely knew Tritannus... strikes me as teenage love, yet again. I just wonder if it's gonna last or not.

My guess is if it does? If Tritannus is killed, she's going to die with him, and if it doesn't, she'll ditch him like she did Valtor.

What do you guys think of the happy couple?

What happened, Winx Club? Part 2

Read Part 1 here.

Now, let's continue!

I really, really don't like what they've done with Tecna's character in the most recent seasons... I know a lot of people love her now, but I can't stand it. In the early Seasons she was the smart girl... not the geeky girl.

Yes, yes, I know you're probably all thinking "oh, but she's smart AND geeky!!! its not like shes not smart anymore" but that wasn't what Tecna was intended to be. She was supposed to be similar to a machine; cold and serious. But still having emotions, just... she didn't share them much.

But now as of the two most recents seasons, Tecna has become the modern day geeky girl in my eyes. Always using her phone, playing computer games... and honestly, the writers aren't doing much to help that. She gets like maybe five lines an episode on average (assuming the episode isn't like.... the Zenith one) so the only thing we ever see her do is play on her phone.

I don't like this new Tecna. But let's move on to Aisha.

Aisha I think is actually doing pretty well, as far as not getting her character wrecked. She's one of the characters that you can actually use the excuse of "they grew up" on.

In Seasons 2 and 3 she was kinda quiet and kinda shy. Not in a "uwwahh I'm so nervous" kind of way, just in an unsocial way. Didn't introduce herself to many people.

Season 4 I've heard a lot of people complain that she was too gushy over Nabu... but Nabu is cool, man. He can be gushed over.

Joking aside, it was pretty out of character, for a guy who she hated a season before. It didn't strike me as blaringly annoying though.

Season 5 I've heard a lot of people say they're glad she's back to her S2 and 3 self... but I dunno. I don't really think she is. She seems a lot more aggressive in Season 5. Like a mix between evil at the end of 4 and 2 and 3 personalities.

I also see people complaining she's taking up too much lines and all in Season 5... which I REALLY don't get, considering she still says/does nothing, except she got shoved on a few more Sirenix missions then most girls. But hey, if you're going to complain about Sirenix missions, complain about Stella. She was in 5/6 of them, only reason she wasn't in the one she wasn't was because she was turned into a little kid. Stella is like the Nick writers' baby.

The boys.

Have I mentioned there are literally no stock pictures of these guys together in uniform. I have resorted to using this screenshot of them walking into the Frutti music bar with the most vague expressions on their faces I have ever seen.

The specialists are really lacking recently. In the beginning of the series they struck me as real characters... they were still mostly only there to be the boyfriends for the girls, but they had character anyway. That seems to have been lost in all except Riven, and amnesiac Sky.

I mean, Riven's character is hard to lose. To be fair he's spoken maybe literally one or two lines this entire Season so far, (holy cow riven I just noticed how few lines that is WHAT) BUT I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume he's still a selfish jerk.

Sky on the other hand wasn't even Sky 70% of what we've seen so far, but heck, at least the guy we saw had character. (I know a lot of people are gonna argue with me that he was Sky, just lost memories... i'm sorry but no, he wasn't Sky anymore.)

Every other guy including Riven has either dropped off the face of the planet, is Bloom's dad, is a villain, or has died. Cough, cough, Nabu. Where did our boys go? I know this is a girl power show, but man, we still need some guys. A single gendered show isn't interesting.

There isn't even anything else to say about them. That's how little they're doing.

Oh boy, time for our final characters... the Trix.

The Trix have been doing, quite sadly, too much as of right now. With their return and the blossoming love between Tritannus and Icy, these characters have been run through an entire season that they don't belong in. At all.

In Season 1 the girls were heartless, cold... well, witches. Nothing good about them. I mean, they summoned an entire army of the dead. The good witch Glinda doesn't do that. Seasons 2 and 3... they were lackeys, but they retained their general personality. Season 4 they weren't there. Originally I was kinda sad about that, but looking back it's a good thing.

Season 5 they DON'T need to be here. Yes, I love the Trix as much as the next Winx Club fan, but for petesake the girls have been reduced to a group of mildly evil incompetent witches, one of which is lovey dovey head over heels for the mutant merboy nextdoor, and the other two spend the entire time gagging and complaining about it; I CAN'T EVEN BLAME THEM FOR COMPLAINING. I'm not even going on I'm too frustrated at this point.

Anyway. My next post will probably go up sometime later this week; I've decided what it'll be... but that'll have to be a surprise. It's not a doll review!

Sorry for taking so long to do this, I've been sick since Sunday and haven't felt good enough to sit down and write something until today. :P Oh well. Thanks for reading! What do you guys think of the changes to the Winx Club cast over the years?

Review: Season 5: Episode 7, The Shimmering Shells *SPOILERS*

This week's episode was good! I think it's my favorite of the Season so far. :) There was only one or two things I didn't really like.

First we see where we left off the the last episode. Remember that shadow?

Well... it was Lenny. Bajeezuz Lenny, you make a large shadow. Anyway, she bonds with Aisha and becomes her bonded selkie. (Looks like their names are selkies, not Pescix. Darnnit-- Selkie is a different species.) A little cheesy of a cut scene as you can see with Stella's version below, but hey, it wasn't any better with the pixies.

We see Musa, Tecna and Flora examining the cave the girls are about to go in and say that it looks confusing. I'm a little confused, mainly because that was the end of their magical reality thing.... what was the use in that? Oh well. It wasn't bad or anything. The girls actually going see it and say something similar. They enter and see Tritannus has mutant oiled it too... danggit Tritannus, you really went out of your way to get everywhere, didn't you.

So they enter, Lenny gets knocked out, and then the Winx girls get knocked out. Then starts the Inner Problems sequence from the preview clip. It was solved really easily-- Aisha realized Nabu wouldn't say stuff like that and told the other girls it was a trick. The other girls realize that, and then the 'Inner Problems' sequence ends. A little disappointing-- they didn't prove self-confidence at all with it, really. Only Aisha did. It was nice seeing the nightmares though. As mention in my post about the preview clip, I really liked Stella's.

They then proceeded to do something with some Shimmering Shells that really didn't help them at all... they just started telling them a riddle to find the gem of self confidence which I really didn't hear, so I don't have an opinion on it. (I though they were supposed to get it here though?) The girls get home to Alfea and discuss the riddle. We see Stella's Sirenix guardian-- first time we've seen one! Looks like they're not the selkies, like most people thought they'd be. I really like that they didn't go the cute route with their designs, they decided to do pretty instead. Anyway, Stella asks her to solve the riddle and of course she says no. Because I mean what kind of guardian would she be if she said yes. Stella then realizes the answer on her own, it's on Solaria so they decide to head to Solaria.

We see a little bit with Bloom and Sky talking about him and Diaspro and he tells her she was super boring to talk to. Woohoo Sky. I wonder if Diaspro will come back this Season after that... doubt it. It was probably just for the fans that time.

Bloom gets a call from her parents about pollution spreading on Earth... that's Tritannus' doing. He needed more oil. He said that earlier. I just forgot to mention it haha.

The group then splits up-- Bloom, Musa, and Tecna go to Earth to stop Tritannus and Stella, Flora, and Aisha go to Solaria to find the Gem of Self Confidence.
I really liked both these parts!

On Earth Icy makes some oil workers throw oil into the ocean for Tritannus, and he absorbs it. They go on like that for a while. Wait...

THERE ARE SOME MERZOMBIE TRITANNUS MINIONS BEHIND THEM I ASSUME THEYRE NEREUS AND LIGEIA BUT WAIT WHAT, THEYRE FLOATING HOW DO THEY FLOAT WHAT.

Floating merzombies aside (never thought I'd say that phrase) the Winx arrive and transform into Harmonix, while Sky who came with them struggles to work his sword which he has forgotten how to use due to his memory loss. Oh, Sky. I do like that the memory loss isn't taking up much of the plot though. They realize it's not what to focus on.

Their attacks are so much nicer then Believix, ooh! They're still not as good as Magic Winx or Enchantix attacks, but MUCH better then Believix. For some reason when they got Believix they got ridiculously weaker. Who knows why.

Long story short, the girls defeat Icy and then Sky has another memory flash thing... of the pendant of Eraklyon GET OUT PENDANT OF ERAKLYON. MY GOD ITS GETTING ANNOYING... but I don't know what that memory flash even did for him, it couldn't have restored his memory right?

Anyway, on Solaria, Stella meets her bonded Selkie-- Eliris. I think that's how you spell that. Gatekeeper of the Solaria oceans... which Tritannus took the powers of earlier in the episode. Looks like they're each getting the Gatekeeper of their planet. That's okay. I like that Eliris isn't prissy like you'd expect Stella's to be. She's a normal person. Er, selkie.

They then go to an underwater cavern with a shield in it, that was spreading up light to the top of the ocean. But then... a mutant jellyfish arrives! It's from when Tritannus polluted Solaria. It apparently has the powers to turn people to stone... because it turned Flora to stone! (Yes I was right, that statue in the preview was Flora!) The jellyfish comes after Aisha and Stella then, but Stella grabs the shield and uses it to send the attack back at the monster.

She then points it at Flora... and she gets turned back? That and the pendant thing were the two things that bothered me this episode. Why'd that turn her back? I mean, I don't care if they bring her back easy as casting a spell on her, but how does a shield help? Stella then says that she thinks the Gem of Self Confidence was the gem in the shield, and it was. It then appears in each of the girls' Sirenix boxes
That's pretty much the end of the episode... in the next episode preview we see the Winx go to Melody! Woohoo, it's very pretty. (I guess those 8-13 rumored episode descriptions are true.., waiting to post them until we know for sure though.) But Musa gets turned into a beast!

...wait, didn't we just do that with Tecna? Oh well. It was fun the first time. Sure it'll be the second time. I don't understand what's up with Musa's monster form though. It doesn't look anything like Musa. It's like a weird merzombie blob dog.

That's it for this episode's review, overall I'd give it about an 8 out of 10. :) I liked it! Be sure to check back next week for the next review, on The Ruby Reef!

Icy Sirenix, New Preview Clip, and Harmonix Clips

Man, a lot of stuff to stuff into one article, but it all came out so close to each other so they ended up together.

First, a new poster came out that includes Sirenix Icy! What do you guys think?

Personally, I feel like parts of it are really nice, but other don't work so well... like, I really love the stuff on her hair, face, and arms, but the jumpsuit(??) looks a little odd.

But maybe she'll have Sirenix-looking tights on the legs?? Who knows. I don't really like the muk look of it though, it kinda looks like she fell in some oil. I know they were probably going for that, but you know what I mean. It doesn't work that well for clothing.

I absolutely adore the blue lipstick and makeup though, that's a giant improvement. Makes her look much more evil then before.

Be sure to check out MagixJourney's article on it, and MagicOfWinxClub's article on it! They reported it before me. :) And here is the source of this poster!

Also new in the Winx world, is a preview clip for the next episode! It shows Princess Krystal bringing Diaspro in to help Sky regain his memories. Bad move there, Krystal... that wasn't the smartest thing.

I don't really think she had bad intentions, but boy did she mess up. Eek. And Sky, why are you so trusting of Diaspro when you were reluctant to talk to Bloom about your past at all??? What!?

Lastly, a new commercial came out for Harmonix dolls from Simba/Giochi/Witty/that European company, but it doesn't show off the dolls as much as it does Harmonix. They should advertise new Seasons like this, this got me pumped for Harmonix. Much more then for the dolls. :P

These clips were beautiful! Love Harmonix, definitely one of my favorite transformations of theirs. It's so pretty! But I still hold my old opinion of it being hard to fight in, I mean look at it. ;) Still very gorgeous, though.

Thanks for reading, and be sure to check back Sunday for my next episode review!! Assuming they air it, unlike last week. ;)

Review: Season 5: Episode 5, Tecna the Robot *SPOILERS*

Today's episode wasn't my favorite-- but it wasn't bad. Here's my review!

First off, we have Bloom trying to jog Sky's memory. It seemed to be going pretty good-- well, Sky still wasn't remembering anything, but Bloom seemed to be in a fairly good mood, which is something really rare in plots like this. :P Of course until Sky decided that it was useless since nothing was helping.

Then, I can't remember if it came before or after, but we got Princess Crystal trying to heal Sky. I like her. I like that she's not just the usual jerky brat like all the other love rivals are in this show. Not to say I don't adore out jerky brats-- but it's a nice change, isn't it?

But then of course Sky still won't remember, because there's a "barrier blocking Crystal's healing"... it was the pendant what. Get over your pendant Sky. You lost it, it's gone. That's it. No more. Groan. It could've have meant that much.

I did crack up over his little phone conversation with King Erindor, though. That was hilarious.

We also get to see Nereus and Queen Ligeia trying to find Tritannus, and Lenny(?) following them. They find him, he turns Nereus into one of his demon sea-mutants and then he demands information on Sirenix from Ligeia. She tells him Dafne/Daphne was the last Sirenix fairy, then he zaps her into a demon sea-mutant too.

Gosh Tritannus. Evil or not they're your family why are you turning them into ugly zombie mermen. And how did you turn Ligea from a female mermaid to a male mer-zombie? Gosh darnnit, Tritannus. I don't like your mer-zombies. Get rid of them. You should know this is only going to cause Neptune getting all angry at you and coming after you. ((Not to mention I was in love with Ligea's design.. why'd she have to get mutated too darn it.))

Then it shows the Winx searching for The Sirenix Book-- Timmy and Tecna have worked out a new invention that should help them find it. But the Trix come and mess with her phone... causing her to find this creepy book.

As soon as she opens it... BOOM Tecna's a robot!! Poor Tecna. She finally gets her own little story/plot and it spans over what felt like six or seven minutes. I wish it had been the main focus of the episode instead of the mixture we got, she had quite a cool design. See the bottom of the article.

The robot wasn't even exactly evil-- it didn't try to really hurt the girls. It just started trashing the library looking for the Sirenix book. That lasted a couple minutes, but then the girls figured out it was her phone that was cursed and so they pulled it out of her robot self, causing her to turn back to normal. That was about it, for this episode. Oh, except!!

At the end it showed Tritannus talking to Icy about how he wanted her to go after Dafne/Daphne to find out more about Sirenix. That should be fun.

The next episode preview sounded pretty sweet though, with the whole competition thing going on. Minus the rainbow unicorn of course. That thing doesn't need to be there.

Overall I'd say it was a pretty good episode, but there were a few minor complaints. Be sure to check back next week for the review for the next episode!

PS: All pictures used in this article are from Nick's official site, in their "Tecna the Robot" photogallery. :)

Review: Season 5: Episode 4, Return to Alfea *SPOILERS*

Image from the Winx Wikia
Let me start this off by saying I LOVE that they're returning to Alfea. It's good they're not staying on Earth, Earth had too many opportunities to do useless things. (Like, there's a much lower chance they're going to throw their Rock band and Pets into Magix then Earth.)

Now here is my review of the episode.

First off, since when can Dafne make wind blow? I know it was supposed to make the scene more dramatic, but jeezus. She's a spirit not... wind. What?

I kinda wish she had really died instead of this. Before it was made out to be she died saving her sister (and it was her choice to), now it just seems like an accident gone wrong, that can easily be fixed. Don't get me wrong, I love Dafne, but I hope they don't bring her back to life. It would negate the value of her sacrifice and make it too "happy ending for everyone."

Looks like we're getting some Flora/Helia love drama this time. It's about time. I really like Princess Crystal's design.

And does this mean Helia is from Lynphea? If he's childhood friends with Crystal, and she's the princess, wouldn't that mean he is?

Man, how much power can Tritannus pack into that trident?! If he can give the Trix THAT much power from one zap.. man.

Anyone else love Musa. She's being so snarky, it brings some variety to the cast. Almost reminds me of Season 1/2 (but mainly 1) Musa. She might be creeping up on my favorites list to be almost with Stella.

The fight they had was entertaining, but nothing to comment on.

But wait, Sky fell ten stories!!

SKY WHATS WRONG WITH YOU WHY DIDNT YOU DIE IT WAS A TEN STORY FALL WHAT

You die if you fall ten stories, kiddies. Don't forget that.

..But now he doesn't remember Bloom. Somehow I am not surprised. It seems like it'll be an interesting plot nevertheless, but I hope it doesn't span over more then three or so episodes. I don't want the Season to just consist of "waahh my boyfriend doesn't remember me," but that might just be because I've watched various shows with that plot and I'm tired of it.

MY GOODNESS THE PREVIEW FOR THE NEXT EPISODE IS FRIGHTENING

Tecna finally gets some attention and she gets turned into a robot oh Tecna. :(

What I want to know though, is why is there EVEN a book that turns someone into a robot hanging out in Alfea's archive. WHY. When will that come in handy?!

Anyway, I liked this episode, but it wasn't as good as the last two. But it was better then the Lilo. :) I'd give it about a 7 or so out of 10.

Thanks for reading everybody! Feel free to share your opinion on the episode in the comments :)

Review: Jakks Pacific Enchantix Doll 4 Pack

So this weekend I went to Target and got one of these! I got mine for a real bargain-- they have a temporary markdown going on right now so it was $47 or so, but because I had a 20% off coupon it totaled up to only $38 when it usually retails $55. Cool, right?

Overall I think it's a fabulous pack for Winx fans, but for normal doll collectors it my fall flat. Here's my review.

BLOOM

Bloom is surprisingly one of my favorites out of this pack. While she doesn't look particularly interesting in images, in person she's the most stunning.
Her wings are GIGANTIC, for one thing. Believix size, if not bigger. Her dress works very well how they did it, and I love the pink glitter used on it. I'm glad they used it instead of plain white glitter or blue glitter, it looks much nicer.

Not to mention she just looks pretty in general, she uses the Believix face and has the Believix hairstyle though, which means don't brush it. I went over that in my Believix review, so unless you want a raging monster on your hands don't brush it.

My only complain about her is her hairstyle-- in the show she has a side part with a few little short strands. While I didn't expect them to do short strands or anything detailed like that, I do wish they would've done a side part. With some boiling water it could be fixed though. And it doesn't look bad how it comes, anyway.

Bloom gets an 8 out of 10.

STELLA

Stella fell flat, when I expected her to be the best out of the pack judging off pictures, I'm not saying she isn't a good doll, she is! Her face is absolutely gorgeous, it's almost like an altered Believix face for her, altered just enough so that it looks just a little bit different.

Her outfit isn't bad, but it just isn't that interesting. The top is rather plain, though I do appreciate them putting those two blue straps. The skirt would be better if the little pieces of cloth were fuller, instead of just laying flat. When laying flat they don't cover up the entire under-skirt, so it looks kind of odd.

Her wings are my favorite of the pack-- they're not as big as Bloom's, but the colors and shape are gorgeous and they're what complete the doll. The only really bid downside of this doll is her hair, it's like Believix's weird hair but twice as bad. With some combing and/or boiling water it could be fixed, though.

Stella gets a 6.5 out of 10.

FLORA

Flora isn't particularly bad, but she's not amazing. The pink piece of fabric on the front of her dress is cut very well and looks like the show (enough) on some dolls, while on others it's cut too little and it's too big. I got one that's too big-- they had one that was the right size, but I worry more about faces then clothing with these dolls. You can touch up an outfit and alter it, but you can't a face.

As far as hair goes it wasn't that bad, but if you tried to brush it it would be. They gave her the same two curls in the front as Believix, when I would have liked if they had given her actual Enchantix hairstyle with the two little strips of hair in the front.

I do however really love her wings, the coloring is really nice and they're really big. They look just like the show and are absolutely perfect.

With Flora, the top of her outfit/dress is a pattern, instead of different pieces of ribbon. I would've preferred they use a striped fabric instead though-- they used one with wavy lines, and it looks kind of odd. With Flora, she looks very pretty as a doll, but she falls flat on accuracy.

Flora gets a 7 out of 10.

ICY

Of course Icy is the main reason everyone is buying the pack, so this is probably the one you want to hear most about. ;)

Overall I think Icy is pretty nice. I love the color they made her hair, it's perfectly accurate. And as silly as it is that she has a sparkly cape, it works really nice and it almost looks like ice crystals from afar.  That works really nice, imo.

She's missing the I on her jumpsuit, but it was kinda dorky anyway. My only other complain about the outfit is how vibrant a blue it is-- it's not ugly or bad, it's just in the show it was kind of a dark faded teal. But hey; I'm content with any Icy doll.

Her face is probably the part that is the most inaccurate, it doesn't look much like Icy. It looks pretty, and it looks evil, but it doesn't look much like Icy. I see what they were trying to do with it, but it looks too... well, you know how there are two different kinds of evil smiles? The eyes wide open, big grin, angry eyebrows evil smile, and the slight smile, half-closed eyes, angry eyebrows evil smile. Icy in the show has the first kind, on the doll she has the second.

Icy gets a 8 out of 10.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

I think this pack is a really good purchase for any Winx collector-- imagine how rare Icy will be in ten years! But as far as doll quality goes most doll collectors would be a little disappointed.

Though I don't really like how all these dolls (minus Icy) have the same gloves, I wish they would've made them different colors. :( It works fine though, it looks good. Just for accuracy purposes I wish they would've. Or at least made them lighter. Oh well!

For people who are worried about the bendy legs some of these dolls are suffering, from being tied into the package weirdly: This pack does have it. My Icy's right boot suffers the most from it, then Stella's right leg.

Overall this pack gets a 7.5 out of 10.

Review: Season 5: Episode 3, The Rise of Tritannus

Image from Flora Enchantix on Winx Wikia
Today the third episode of Season 5 premiered! I must say, it was quite good. Here are my thoughts!

Tritannus is really kinda creepy. He keeps going after toxic waste for power, doesn't that seem dangerous?? Like it would have some sort of long-term affect on his body. Unless he wants to stay sea-mutant forever. In which case go ahead.

Icy.. I can't tell if she's trying to use him, or if she really likes him? If she's trying to use him, goodness she is a good actress. If she really likes him.. bleh. It's fine, since at least it's not all three of the Trix liking the villain like in Season 3, but it's still kind of obnoxious.

The Winx had a band concert, but honestly who wasn't expecting that, based on the description including them having a benefit concert. I don't really like how much they're pushing the 'be green' thing, mainly because they even wrote a whole song about it, but it's not bad. It's teaching people to be green, alright. I just wish they'd do it more subtly.

Aisha is so awesome. All the girls are using magic to attack the enemy and she is just kicking and throwing the enemy. Kinda feel bad for her though, finding out her cousin is the sea-mutant absorbing pollution.

I'm glad they're heading back to Alfea, I was missing that place! I hope they stay there for the rest of the Season, at least most of it. It's really fun to see them there.

The writing is improving. It was kinda lacking Season 4, but it's getting better. I'm happy about that. I hope their personalities get more development, that was the main mistake of Season 4. There was barely any, minus Roxy, Musa, and Riven.

Overall I think it was a really good episode, about as good as the last episode! I'd give it about a 7/10. :)

Thanks for reading, and be sure to catch Episode 4 when it premieres next Sunday!

Italian Harmonix Dolls and New Season 5 Clip: Toxic Power

It's been a pretty good week for Winx news. Not too much, but not too little. ;) Then again, when is there ever too much Winx news?

First off, MagixJourney found an image of the new Italian Harmonix dolls! I think they're by Simba, but it might be Giochi. Not sure. It was found here. :)

Personally, I think they're pretty cute! Not the best, but not the worst. I really like Stella and Flora, but I wish they would try harder to do accurate hair. The Italian Believix dolls had really accurate hair (minus Bloom), so wondering what's going on here. Should've at least given Stella bangs, she does have them in her Harmonix transformation. Oh well, it's not that bad! It looks fine like this too anyway. :)

The other main complaints I have with these is for one, Aisha's coloring. Why is her dress blue? In the show it's green and a little blue, where's that pink coming from, too? Bloom's wings look a little weird next to the others, but it's not that bad.

But really, what's going on with Aisha's outfit? The others have minor outfit problems, but none as off as Aisha's. But they're still quite nice dolls, I'll probably import a Stella for myself.

Also this week we got a new clip on Nick's site for the third episode, titled Toxic Power! Be sure to check out BelieveInWinx and MagixJourney posts on it as well. ;)

It was a pretty nice clip, but man is Tritannus psycho. Who yells "ITS TOXIC!" then starts laughing?! Icy's pretty smart though, trying to get Tritannus to work with them. She knows he's probably their only way out of these prisons.

Not much else to say about this clip, it wasn't that interesting. I'm sure tomorrow's episode will be though!

Also, I picked up some Charmix dolls from ToysRUs this weekend. Once I get Flora I'll do a full review. :)

Be sure to check this blog tomorrow, I'll be doing an episode review on the third episode then, be sure to take a look!
