Review: Jakks Pacific, Charmix Flora Doll

Hey everyone! Remember how I mentioned putting up two new doll reviews? Well yeah, here's one of them. About time I got this doll, been needing her since September haha. It's Flora of the Charmix line! This is my review on her... Check out my review of Bloom and Stella as well if you want to know about the entire line.

Also, Happy Halloween everyone! What are you dressing up as this year? :) Also, the Hallowinx theme on this blog will be leaving tomorrow! If anyone caught me testing out the new banner a few days ago I guess you got a sneak peek, haha. But I'll be changing it tomorrow morning.

Well, let's get started with the review! I doubt you guys just want to hear me babble on, haha. Then again, that's really all my reviews are.

FLORA

Flora is actually competing with Stella for being my favorite of the line. She's really cute. But man, what a misleading stock picture. Her hair looks completely different and the material on her sleeves is different. Her hair is like Concert/Everyday's but not quite as ratty, it doesn't have those Believix buns like it shows in the stock picture. (I think if you brushed this one's hair it would get a little nasty, but nowhere near Believix Bloom's.) The material on her sleeves is really the fishnet-like material on Bloom's sleeves.

I love the makeup on this doll. It's like Concert/Everyday's but waaay purple-y. I've seen a lot of people complain about Jakks not changing the makeup, but this really is different. Everyday's is a bright pink and this is a pink-ish purple. I love it. It's so cute.

The dress on this doll isn't half bad either. It's very accurate. It's more hot-pink then the light-pink it is in the show, but it still works just fine. A lot of people complain about the shoes not being very accurate, but they're the same as Bloom's really. How I see it is, they're ankle boots, good enough, who cares if they're exactly the same as the show's? It's a doll, can't expect it to be super accurate.

The wings are very cute, and surprisingly enough the glitter doesn't shed very often. Sure it does come off, but not nearly as much as you'd expect.

Overall I'd give this doll an 8.5 out of 10. Very accurate and gorgeous!

Thanks for reading, and don't forget, I still have one more doll review to do. It'll be a surprise. ;) I also will be doing a new episode review on Sunday, so be sure to check back for that! Once again, Happy Halloween!

Review: Season 5: Episode 8, Secret of the Ruby Reef *SPOILERS*

It took a while for it to air... but it did! I liked it. It was cute! I know a lot of people have been watching the episodes in Italian ahead of time on Rai's site (?) but I don't really want to do that. I mean, I can't even understand Italian and it's more fun to do this, so don't expect me to post reviews for episodes before Nick airs them. So, here's my review of Secret of the Ruby Reef.

Holy cow Nickelodeon, did you just advertise the Lost Kingdom right before Secret of the Ruby Reef? My goodness, I know there was some scheduling trouble but dang. I was worried there for a moment.

Okay, so we start with that party from the preview clip we got like, two weeks ago. I'm surprised Krystal wasn't there to mess with Helia's relationship with Flora. Did they forget about her?? We haven't seen her in a while. Oh well, I didn't particularly want her to be there anyway.

So at said party Stella notices Aisha all lonely and all that and drags some boys over there to talk to her, but Aisha doesn't want to be with them so she splats drink in their faces and gets mad at Stella. harsh, Aisha. Poor guys didn't know what they were getting into. Stella has good intentions but I don't really agree with her execution. She could've just gone and kept Aisha company herself. Oh yeah, Roy was at this party considering asking Aisha out but I didn't think it was very interesting. He's nice I guess but no Nabu.

Anyway, we then see Tecna in her room talking to Timmy (hey wait, how'd she get her streaks? Did Stella automatically flash them into her hair from outside and Tecna was just like, 'oh, Stella's at it again haha'??) So while she's here the Sirenix book just starts singing. That's kinda creepy. She goes outside to find the girls and just walks around playing it on her phone, until Musa recognizes it and says it's something her mom used to sing to her. (now I want to know something... which came first, it being a clue or Musa's mom singing it to her? Because if it was a clue first dang, Musa's mom, talk about foreshadowing)

Also, apparently they only have ten or so days left. What did you do with the rest of them?! They then decide to go to Melody since the clue is Musa's mom and yeah. Stella, Aisha, and Musa are the ones going this time. Aisha and Stella seem to be going on almost all of these.

We then see Tritannus invading his father's castle and he turns Tressa and Neptune into magic merzombies. NO TRITANNUS, TRESSA IS AMAZING DON'T DO THAT. She should've escaped. ;~; Tritannus' scenes are so creepy. They always give me an uneasy feeling-- like 'who's he gonna get next, eee don't hurt (insert name here), don't turn them into a merzombie!!'

So then the Winx are now on a boat which holy cow, Aisha is driving. (yes, out of the three pictures I decided to put in this post, Aisha driving the boat is one of them.) Aisha is amazing. She can drive a boat for crying out loud. Where's Roy, I thought it was his boat? Oh well. Anyway, Aisha and Stella are arguing more. Stop arguing you two, you're my two favorite characters. :(

We arrive on Melody... and Tritannus is trying to get Aisha! No no no don't you dare turn her into a magic merzombie too. Oh, Musa had a flashback about her mother here. It wasn't a very interesting one, just them kinda walking around. Oh well, nice to see her at all.

Dang it Tritannus hit Musa! Wait why did she turn into a big sea glob dog. That is not relevant to Musa.

Alright, so he swims off and leaves the girls to fight Musa dog. Wait, now they're scared? Why weren't you scared when we saw Tec-bot?? I guess this is scarier since Tritannus did it but still. They basically flee for a while until they find the selkies and they tell them that maybe by bonding with a selkie Musa could be cured. Musa's selkie is named Sona! (spelling?)

So they lure Musa dog over to Sona who looks like she's about to pass out from exhaustion since Tritannus just took her powers. Sona sends magical blue beams out of her eyes causing Musa to turn back into Musa and making them bond.

Hey wait, where's Fila and what's she the selkie of?

Musa dog is gone, and we have Musa back! Woohoo! I really like Musa this season. We then find the Ruby Reef and play a song on it. It was a pretty song! But what did it have to do with anything, we just got another riddle. Which was something like feel music. Then the girls go home since apparently they need to think more. Hey, we didn't earn a gem today. We need to hurry up unless we want to end up powerless. They get home and Bloom decides the other Winx will deal with this big mission she has a big mission too?? To find Sky's lost memory oh Bloom. There's something a bit more important to be doing right now.

So then at the end of the episode Bloom and Sky find a silly destiny shell which means they're destined to be together, okay. We then see Daphne watching her from the bottom of a lake which she was also doing at the beginning of the episode but I forgot to mention. The Trix and Tritannus come and mess her up no don't touch Daphne. I did love the line of 'who lives under a lake' though. Why is Daphne so scared though?? She's a spirit, how are they supposed to hurt her?

Next episode preview... Zenith! Ah that's nice we get to go there. And Stella's fashion show which apparently according to some episode description she gets turned into a kid because. This should be entertaining.

Thanks for reading guys! Be sure to keep checking this blog for new posts-- I just picked up some new Winx dolls this weekend so reviews for them should be popping up soon, keep an eye out. And of course, next week there will be a new episode review. ;)

Review: Jakks Pacific: Everyday Bloom and Flora Dolls

Winx didn't air this weekend, danggit. I was so sad! I'm not sure if it's supposed to air next week either. :( Oh well. I guess I'll just buy Winx dolls to keep up my Winx spirit...! Here's a doll review in the meantime.

I've decided to do these reviews as I get products, since it takes me forever to complete lines, haha. I still haven't bought Charmix Flora. :P Might have to do that next weekend.

Anyway, a couple weeks ago I picked up these two from my local Target! When I went they had these two and Musa. Personally I really like them! Here's my review.

BLOOM

Honestly I wasn't expecting Bloom to be all that great since none of the pictures have done her justice, but in person she's actually a really cute doll! The face is similar to my Charmix Bloom's face, but she has taller eyes and fuller lips, just slightly. I really like how they do that-- how every doll's face is just a little different. :)

Her shirt is cute. Isn't my favorite part, but it's not bad at all. The only thing I wish they'd done differently is that I wish they'd made it a turtle neck like it is in the show. They don't seem to want to do any turtleneck shirts, it's odd. They skimped out on Charmix Bloom as well. Oh well, it looks fine anyway, haha.

Her jean skirt and socks are my favorite parts! The jean skirt is lighter then it is in the show but personally I think it looks even cute this way. At first I thought the socks were a little short compared to her giant thigh-high things in the show, but looking at them not they look good. Her shoes are cute too. :)

As far as hair goes... it's like Believix Bloom, don't brush it. It doesn't look too bad out of the box though. I wish Jakks would give Bloom her little strip of bangs at the front but I see why they don't. It'd be a pain in the neck.

Overall I'd give this doll a 8 out of 10, she really serves her purpose as 'Everyday Bloom' well. I love her!

FLORA

Flora's gorgeous! This is my favorite Flora I own yet. I'm definitely glad I bought her. Her face is absolutely amazing... it looks just like Flora from the show! I know I've said that about other Floras... but this one takes the cake.  It's really different from her other faces, it looks older and more sophisticated.

She's a little different from the stock picture-- the green necklace seen here is pink in person, and her skirt is a tad longer. But other then that it's spot-on. The hair is like Bloom's, once again, don't brush it. That's a common problem with Jakks dolls, but if you don't mind how it comes then it doesn't really matter anyway. I don't mind.

Her shirt and skirt are the same slightly icky fabric as on Charmix Bloom-- but on Flora it's much better. It's more noticeable but it doesn't feel as icky or anything. Honestly I don't mind it.

The shoes and socks on this doll... OMG, love. Why do I have such a thing for shoes and socks on Jakks dolls?? These shoes are adorable! They're bigger and clunkier then normal heels and it looks adorable and cartoony. The socks are the exact right length as well.

Overall I'd give this doll an 8 out of 10, just like Bloom. She's just like Flora, even though there are a couple little details that didn't turn out well. She's adorable too.

Keep an eye out for more Winx reviews, as I might be picking up more dolls soon. ;) Thanks for reading! Feel free to leave a comment.

Also, Halloweens coming up soon... what are you dressing up as? I might try to be a Winx girl and make my own costume, hehe. Those official ones are just too small for me now. I wish they'd make teen costumes.

Review: Season 5: Episode 7, The Shimmering Shells *SPOILERS*

This week's episode was good! I think it's my favorite of the Season so far. :) There was only one or two things I didn't really like.

First we see where we left off the the last episode. Remember that shadow?

Well... it was Lenny. Bajeezuz Lenny, you make a large shadow. Anyway, she bonds with Aisha and becomes her bonded selkie. (Looks like their names are selkies, not Pescix. Darnnit-- Selkie is a different species.) A little cheesy of a cut scene as you can see with Stella's version below, but hey, it wasn't any better with the pixies.

We see Musa, Tecna and Flora examining the cave the girls are about to go in and say that it looks confusing. I'm a little confused, mainly because that was the end of their magical reality thing.... what was the use in that? Oh well. It wasn't bad or anything. The girls actually going see it and say something similar. They enter and see Tritannus has mutant oiled it too... danggit Tritannus, you really went out of your way to get everywhere, didn't you.

So they enter, Lenny gets knocked out, and then the Winx girls get knocked out. Then starts the Inner Problems sequence from the preview clip. It was solved really easily-- Aisha realized Nabu wouldn't say stuff like that and told the other girls it was a trick. The other girls realize that, and then the 'Inner Problems' sequence ends. A little disappointing-- they didn't prove self-confidence at all with it, really. Only Aisha did. It was nice seeing the nightmares though. As mention in my post about the preview clip, I really liked Stella's.

They then proceeded to do something with some Shimmering Shells that really didn't help them at all... they just started telling them a riddle to find the gem of self confidence which I really didn't hear, so I don't have an opinion on it. (I though they were supposed to get it here though?) The girls get home to Alfea and discuss the riddle. We see Stella's Sirenix guardian-- first time we've seen one! Looks like they're not the selkies, like most people thought they'd be. I really like that they didn't go the cute route with their designs, they decided to do pretty instead. Anyway, Stella asks her to solve the riddle and of course she says no. Because I mean what kind of guardian would she be if she said yes. Stella then realizes the answer on her own, it's on Solaria so they decide to head to Solaria.

We see a little bit with Bloom and Sky talking about him and Diaspro and he tells her she was super boring to talk to. Woohoo Sky. I wonder if Diaspro will come back this Season after that... doubt it. It was probably just for the fans that time.

Bloom gets a call from her parents about pollution spreading on Earth... that's Tritannus' doing. He needed more oil. He said that earlier. I just forgot to mention it haha.

The group then splits up-- Bloom, Musa, and Tecna go to Earth to stop Tritannus and Stella, Flora, and Aisha go to Solaria to find the Gem of Self Confidence.
I really liked both these parts!

On Earth Icy makes some oil workers throw oil into the ocean for Tritannus, and he absorbs it. They go on like that for a while. Wait...

THERE ARE SOME MERZOMBIE TRITANNUS MINIONS BEHIND THEM I ASSUME THEYRE NEREUS AND LIGEIA BUT WAIT WHAT, THEYRE FLOATING HOW DO THEY FLOAT WHAT.

Floating merzombies aside (never thought I'd say that phrase) the Winx arrive and transform into Harmonix, while Sky who came with them struggles to work his sword which he has forgotten how to use due to his memory loss. Oh, Sky. I do like that the memory loss isn't taking up much of the plot though. They realize it's not what to focus on.

Their attacks are so much nicer then Believix, ooh! They're still not as good as Magic Winx or Enchantix attacks, but MUCH better then Believix. For some reason when they got Believix they got ridiculously weaker. Who knows why.

Long story short, the girls defeat Icy and then Sky has another memory flash thing... of the pendant of Eraklyon GET OUT PENDANT OF ERAKLYON. MY GOD ITS GETTING ANNOYING... but I don't know what that memory flash even did for him, it couldn't have restored his memory right?

Anyway, on Solaria, Stella meets her bonded Selkie-- Eliris. I think that's how you spell that. Gatekeeper of the Solaria oceans... which Tritannus took the powers of earlier in the episode. Looks like they're each getting the Gatekeeper of their planet. That's okay. I like that Eliris isn't prissy like you'd expect Stella's to be. She's a normal person. Er, selkie.

They then go to an underwater cavern with a shield in it, that was spreading up light to the top of the ocean. But then... a mutant jellyfish arrives! It's from when Tritannus polluted Solaria. It apparently has the powers to turn people to stone... because it turned Flora to stone! (Yes I was right, that statue in the preview was Flora!) The jellyfish comes after Aisha and Stella then, but Stella grabs the shield and uses it to send the attack back at the monster.

She then points it at Flora... and she gets turned back? That and the pendant thing were the two things that bothered me this episode. Why'd that turn her back? I mean, I don't care if they bring her back easy as casting a spell on her, but how does a shield help? Stella then says that she thinks the Gem of Self Confidence was the gem in the shield, and it was. It then appears in each of the girls' Sirenix boxes
That's pretty much the end of the episode... in the next episode preview we see the Winx go to Melody! Woohoo, it's very pretty. (I guess those 8-13 rumored episode descriptions are true.., waiting to post them until we know for sure though.) But Musa gets turned into a beast!

...wait, didn't we just do that with Tecna? Oh well. It was fun the first time. Sure it'll be the second time. I don't understand what's up with Musa's monster form though. It doesn't look anything like Musa. It's like a weird merzombie blob dog.

That's it for this episode's review, overall I'd give it about an 8 out of 10. :) I liked it! Be sure to check back next week for the next review, on The Ruby Reef!

New Preview Clip: Inner Problems

New preview clip is out! I think this is my favorite yet... you can watch it here on BelieveInWinx's YouTube. :)

Ouch, this is rough! Reminds me of the Nightmare Monster episode we got back in Season 1. For my review, I'll start with Bloom's part.

Bloom's... I feel like it would've been better if it hadn't been Diaspro that was talking to her. Sky would've made it better, or even Bloom herself like Stella in Stella's clip. Diaspro's voice just can't make the right tone... it's way too light, it just can't sound mean. Only snotty. Other then that I thought it was a pretty average nightmare. Could've been better, but I understand why they did it how they did.

Stella's I actually liked. It was a little odd that that was her only personal problem, but I really loved that her enemy was herself and self-confidence problems. It shows she's not just the prissy girly girl we see in the show-- she has insecurity problems. I've always loved that about Stella, it's one of the reasons she's my favorite character.

Aisha's... HOLY COW AISHA'S. Aisha's took the cake. Nabu!! Poor Aisha! I really hope Nabu comes back now, so this problem is solved... because no matter how self-confident she gets there's always going to be the pain of "could I have done something to save him?"...

Overall, this clip was really interesting. I loved it.

Review: Season 5: Episode 6, Fairy Harmony *SPOILERS*

Today's episode was actually really interesting.. totally worth the wait!

So we started with Tecna and Aisha trying to open the Sirenix book, and they're unable to. It literally won't open. Like, the cover won't move from it's closed position. Then they get called the Faragonda's office, where she tells them to enter the challenge from the Nature Spirit to open the book... and that if they fail this Sirenix mission they could lose their powers forever. Well Faragonda, that came out of nowhere. Thanks for the heads up when we were looking for the book. Not.

Then they went and entered the challenge where the objective was to find a rainbow unicorn and bring it to the Nature Spirit-- seemed surprisingly easy to me. It had the girls against two other teams of fairies, one of which didn't appear in the entire episode except at the beginning here, and the other followed them to cheat.

The Trix came and atacked some of them, then went off to find the rainbow unicorn (er, rainbow creature?) so the Winx couldn't get it. While they were looking for it some of the Winx (they had split into two groups) found a regular old horse, and didn't think it was the rainbow unicorn. Because I mean, why would you expect it was?

Then the Trix arrive and blast them 'til they're knocked out, and then blasts the horse off a cliff and it's hanging there by a branch. The other Winx arrive and Bloom saves the horse from falling, which then proceeds to shed it's rainbow magic and defeat the Trix?? Goodness this must be some super unicorn.

So then the Winx return to the Spirit and show her they found it, and then she gives them some sort of magic which is really just sparkles, not Harmonix. That was a little uh. Unexpected.

After that they go back to Alfea and open the Sirenix book... which reveals that if they do not get Sirenix within one full lunar cycle of right now, they will lose their powers forever.

Once again, would've been nice to know about before we started going after Sirenix, but okay whatever. Rude little book. The book then gives them little compacts that apparently hold their Sirenix guardian??? Something like that. They were pretty compacts, I'd buy one if they sold versions of them. The guardians are the little keeper mermaids, right? I'm pretty sure they are. They have some nice cases, woo. They are then given Harmonix by the book.

You know, I kinda like that you can't keep Harmonix for more then one lunar cycle. It's kinda like a curse in it's own way, because if you stay in it too long you lose your magic. Makes it more interesting.

They then are told by the book that they need some gems to get Sirenix. I can't remember what they all were, but one was the Gem of Self Confidence.

What a title. Gem of Self Confidence. I can't decide if I love it or hate it. Anyway, so they send Bloom, Stella and Aisha to find it in some cave of Shimmering Shells in Andros. I can't remember why just them, I don't think it was that good a reason. Should've taken them all with you. Then Flora, Musa and Tecna agree to stay back and follow them with the Magical Reality Chamber. Been a while since we've used that, it's nice it's back.

So then the group going to Andros gets in a magical yacht driven by.. Roy.
ROY. NOT ROY OH BOY. (also, what kind of yachts have you been on, Stella? I don't think that's a yacht, that's a speedboat based on the size of it.)

Don't know how many of you read it or not, but one of the other Winx bloggers posted a rumor about Roy.. goodness I hope it doesn't turn out to be true. I don't like him. He doesn't compare to Nabu.

While they go in the boat Flora, Tecna and Musa follow them underwater through the Magical Reality Chamber. (In some cute outfits, if I may say so myself.) Tecna senses something big up ahead and she thinks it's the Shimmering Shells cave. Okay, that's reasonable.

Bloom, Stella and Aisha transform into Harmonix and dive underwater... where they're going good, until GOODNESS A DARK SHADOW... seriously though, what is it? My guess is that fish monster from the Harmonix commercial. Could be comething else though.

That's when the episode ends and we get a preview for the next one. In it we see the Winx with the little mermaid keeper guardian things underwater. Flora's apparently with them now too, she was in this little blurb at the end.

We also see in this little preview... a statue of a girl!? I had to rewind my DVR to take another look and see if I recognized her-- looking at it closely I think it's Flora.

She has Flora's Harmonix shirt if you look at the image. Doesn't Flora have those rose wristbands, as well? The only thing that makes me think it might not be Flora is the hair-- it looks like Aisha's, but Aisha was seen looking at the statue a moment later. So it can't be her. I'm pretty sure it's Flora. Has too much resemblance to her Harmonix costume to be anyone else, right?

Quite a good episode, one of my favorite's of the Season so far. The only thing that really confuses me though is that in the last episode it had Tritannus wanting to go after Daphne... he seems to have forgotten about that now? All he did this episode was be a creepy guy and talk to the merzombies that were Ligeia and Nereus about how it was nice to be taking a 'family trip' together.

What did you guys think of this episode? Who do you think the statue seen in the next episode preview is? What did you think of the girls' Harmonix, and what did you think of the contest they participated in? Share your thoughts in the comments below! :)

Icy Sirenix, New Preview Clip, and Harmonix Clips

Man, a lot of stuff to stuff into one article, but it all came out so close to each other so they ended up together.

First, a new poster came out that includes Sirenix Icy! What do you guys think?

Personally, I feel like parts of it are really nice, but other don't work so well... like, I really love the stuff on her hair, face, and arms, but the jumpsuit(??) looks a little odd.

But maybe she'll have Sirenix-looking tights on the legs?? Who knows. I don't really like the muk look of it though, it kinda looks like she fell in some oil. I know they were probably going for that, but you know what I mean. It doesn't work that well for clothing.

I absolutely adore the blue lipstick and makeup though, that's a giant improvement. Makes her look much more evil then before.

Be sure to check out MagixJourney's article on it, and MagicOfWinxClub's article on it! They reported it before me. :) And here is the source of this poster!

Also new in the Winx world, is a preview clip for the next episode! It shows Princess Krystal bringing Diaspro in to help Sky regain his memories. Bad move there, Krystal... that wasn't the smartest thing.

I don't really think she had bad intentions, but boy did she mess up. Eek. And Sky, why are you so trusting of Diaspro when you were reluctant to talk to Bloom about your past at all??? What!?

Lastly, a new commercial came out for Harmonix dolls from Simba/Giochi/Witty/that European company, but it doesn't show off the dolls as much as it does Harmonix. They should advertise new Seasons like this, this got me pumped for Harmonix. Much more then for the dolls. :P

These clips were beautiful! Love Harmonix, definitely one of my favorite transformations of theirs. It's so pretty! But I still hold my old opinion of it being hard to fight in, I mean look at it. ;) Still very gorgeous, though.

Thanks for reading, and be sure to check back Sunday for my next episode review!! Assuming they air it, unlike last week. ;)
